Cat Spay and Neuter clinic in Mount Horeb

MOUNT HOREB (WKOW) -- The Dane County Humane Society is expanding its reach with a new cat spay and neuter clinic in Mount Horeb.

The new facility opened last month and had an open house on Saturday. People had the chance to tour the building and talk to organizers about services offered.

Organizers say that because the clinic is run through different subsidies and grants, it can offer services to those who normally would be unable to take their cat to a vet.

Through the clinic DCHS hopes to spread the word about the importance of neutering and spaying cats.

"There is certainly a big problem with cat overpopulation in Dane County and in our region because cats can survive outside and they can reproduce...they can have multiple litters every year," said clinic vet Dr. Diana Care.

Since its opening in October the facility has neutered 371 cats.
