Rhinelander teacher accused of growing marijuana

Posted:

RHINELANDER(WKOW) -- A teacher at Rhinelander High School is due in court this week on charges of growing dozens of marijuana plants at his home.

The Rhinelander School District says 35-year-old Joshua Juergens will remain on paid leave until the investigation is over.  He is in court on Thursday.

Juergens appeared in court Friday without an attorney. A judge set his next court date for Thursday to give him time to find a lawyer. Juergens' bond was set at $1,500 cash.

Prosecutors say investigators found about 60 marijuana plants in a hidden room in Juergens' basement. A detective says the operation was sophisticated, including an exhaust system, fertilizers and a motorized trolley system.
