Madison Police searching for suspect in battery on city's east side

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police are searching for a suspect in a battery on the city's east side that sent one man to the hospital.

According to the police report, a 43-year-old Madison man was hospitalized after repeated punches to the head.

Police say the man was involved in some type of confrontation at Jade Monkey on Cottage Grove Road around 12:39 a.m. on Sunday before being punched in the head. The victim told police he believes he was knocked out and could not remember what happened.

Witnesses say several men left the bar after the incident.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a brain bleed.

Police are now looking for a suspect that is described as a 25 to 35-year-old black male, weighing 300 pounds or more, and about 6' to 6'2". He was wearing a dark top over a lighter colored shirt and a baseball cap, possibly with a Chicago Bears emblem on it.
