Free recycling for holiday lights offered in Eau Claire and Dunn County

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Christmas is just around the corner, which means it is time to dig out your Christmas lights, un-tangle the cords, wrap them around the tree and plug them in. Last but not least, find out they don't work. But, don't throw them away just yet, you can recycle them.

Both Eau Claire and Dunn County are once again allowing people to drop off their old and unwanted strands of lights, whether they work or not.

In Eau Claire, lights can be dropped off at the Eau Claire County Courthouse from November 15th through the end of January. In Dunn County, the drop-off sites are the Dunn County Transfer Station and Recycling Center, the city of Menomonie drop-off site or any area collection station. They can be recycled from mid-November to the end of January. This is the third year for the free service.
