DOES IT WORK? Get luscious curls with the Air Curler

MADISON (WKOW) – Imagine using just air and heat to get luscious curls. That's the promise behind the Air Curler, but does it work?

If you have wavy, straight or curly hair, the Air Curler promises to just use heat from a blow dryer to transform your hair into perfect curls.

"Reading the directions there was a lot that you had to take in," said Joshua Harrison. "It said that you had to hold it for 10 to 15 seconds."

After reading the directions, the Air Curler connects to your hair dryer. You then turn your hair dryer on medium heat with high wind speed, but do not use high heat.

The directions say to put a small section of your hair in the plastic Air Curler bowl, turn on the hair dryer and watch as it twists your hair into a curl.

"It took us a little bit, not a long time, but a little bit to try and figure out how to put it together," said Melissa Murphy from Waunakee.

As a hair stylist, Harrison was concerned with the amount of heat while using the air curler.

"With this you can't even control the temperature. If someone has really dry, brittle hair it could make it even more with the daily use of this," said Harrison.

While testing the Air Curler, we found that it works better on people with straight hair, instead of curly.

Not all hair dryers fit with the Air Curler. If you are interested in testing it out, the Air Curler costs about $15 dollars in the "As Seen on TV" section or you can buy it online.
