Teenagers arrested for burglary in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Police say they arrested five teenagers accused of stealing from a home in Fitchburg.

Police were called to a home in the 3000 block of Bryn Wood Drive in Fitchburg on a report of an interrupted residential burglary. Officers say someone who lived at the home was there when five suspects entered wearing masks and carrying duffle bags.

Police say the suspects fled when the homeowner confronted them.

When officers responded, they found the five suspects on bicycles going through the Dunn's Marsh Conservancy, about one mile from the burglary scene.

Search dogs helped police find evidence the suspects discarded.

Four of the suspects are 16 years old. The fifth is 17. All are being held at the Dane County Jail pending formal charges.
