Webster woman gets year in jail for shooting boyfriend

Burnett Co. (WQOW) - A northern Wisconsin woman convicted of shooting her boyfriend in the face will spend one year in jail.

Aame Vennes was sentenced this week in Burnett County.

Deputies were called to a rural Webster home last year. James Yarosis told investigators they were arguing when Vennes began to hit him. He told detectives at some point he told Vennes to go ahead and shoot him, and she did.

He was shot in the mouth at close range. The 22-caliber bullet knocked out teeth and injured his face and mouth. As part of her sentence, Vennes must pay $43,000 for the victim's medical bills and lost wages.
