UPDATE: Public not in danger after gunman scare

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Police have confirmed that the man has been located. There is no threat to the public.

Madison Police responded to numerous reports of a man with a shotgun around 10 a.m. on Saturday.  The man is a UW student who had been hunting outside of the City of Madison.  He could not find parking close to his home, so he decided to walk from his parked vehicle to his home with an uncased shotgun.

Madison Police Department says he never pointed his weapon at anyone, he did not make any threats, and he cooperated with police.

No citation or arrest have been made.
