Intoxicated driver hits tree in Rock Co.

ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- An Illinois man in the hospital after a crash faces an intoxicated driving charge.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, emergency crews responded to a report that a vehicle had crashed into a tree on Stateline Road in the town of Turtle.

Officials say Christopher Groleau, 23, lost control of his car while driving on Stateline Road between Gateway Drive and Wllowbrook Road. The vehicle slid backward into a tree.

The South Beloit man was taken to the hospital with internal injuries.

Authorities say Groleau was cited for OWI, driving too fast for conditions and not wearing a seatbelt.
