Janesville police search for robbery suspect

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Police say a man attempted to rob a gas station in Janesville but got away with nothing.

According to Janesville police, a man walked into the Citgo on Parker Street around 8:45 p.m. Saturday and demanded the clerk give him all the money in the store.

The suspect did not display a weapon and didn't imply he had one. The clerk refused to hand over any money and the suspect fled the store.

Police say a K9 unit responded to search for the suspect but did not find him.

The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, about 5'10" tall, weighing around 175-185 pounds. He was wearing a black long-sleeved t-shirt, baggy jeans and white shoes.

Anyone with information about this attempted robbery is asked to call Janesville Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 756-3636.
