Large advertising balloon taken from Parker YMCA grounds


MILTON (WKOW) -- The Milton Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public with identifying the subject or subjects responsible for the theft of a large advertising balloon.

Sometime between the hours of 9:00 Friday night and 7:00 Saturday morning, the 24 foot balloon was stolen from the new Parker YMCA grounds.

The balloon was fastened to the ground by cables, which were cut and left at the scene.  The balloon is yellow, red, blue, green, and orange in color and had "Grand Opening" affixed to the top yellow portion.  Affixed to the black bottom portion of the balloon were the company's name "Big Sky" and a telephone number of "1-800-769-8000".

Also taken in the theft were a 1hp electric motor and light, both of which were attached to the balloon.  The estimated value is $6,000.

Anyone coming forward with information leading to the arrest of the subject or subjects responsible will be eligible for a cash reward through Janesville Area Crimestoppers.  Any information regarding the incident should be called into the Milton Police Department at 757-2244 or Janesville Area Crimestoppers at 756-3636.
