A troubled Eau Claire hotel will be closing its doors

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Lights out for a troubled Eau Claire hotel.  The former downtown Ramada Inn is about to close its doors.

The hotel's last day of business will be Sunday.

At a recent court hearing, an Eau Claire County judge ruled the receiver in charge of running the hotel had the authority to close it. The former Ramada has had a series of problems, financial and otherwise, going back years.

Reports show the hotel lost more than $30,000 in September and was expected to lose about the same last month.  It's been auctioned off twice this year but both times the winning bidder failed to meet payment deadlines.  A third sheriff's auction will be held on December 3rd.  Depending on what happens at that auction, the hotel could reopen its doors in the future.
