19 tons collected on Drug "Take Back" Day across the state

Wisconsin (WQOW) - More than 38,000 thousand pounds, or to put it another way, 19-tons: That's how many unused and unwanted drugs were collected across the state, in only one day last month.

October 26-th was National Drug "Take Back" Day. Wisconsin ranked fourth in the nation for the total amount collected, trailing only behind much larger states like California, and New York.

Drug take back events held in the Chippewa Valley and across the state help to make sure drugs are being thrown away properly, so they don't end up being flushed or tossed in a landfill. Nationally, a total of 324 tons were turned in.
