Beloit Police Department search for escaped inmate


BELOIT (WKOW) -- Thursday afternoon, officers from the City of Beloit Police Department responded to the Adult Probation and Parole officer on Grant Street for a person they wished to be taken into custody for a probation violation.

Michael Kane (40), of Beloit was secured in handcuffs and transported to the City of Beloit Police Department.  Prior to being taken into the prisoner holding area, Kane was in the garage area and was able to flee.

Kane was last seen wearing blue jeans and a camouflage jacket.  He is approximately 5'10" and 170 pounds.  He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Kane's criminal history involves property crime and illegal narcotics.  Police are actively searching for Kane for his probation violation, felony escape and theft.
