County reviewing emergency radio system

Clark County (WQOW) - A county has concerns with its communications system so it's giving that system a hard look.

Because of FCC mandates in recent years, Clark County had to reduce the number of radio frequencies it used.  Since then, some concerns have come up including gaps and conflicts in coverage, aging equipment, and the capacity of the current system.  The county is now doing a study to assess the situation.  "I don't think we're at the point where the public needs to be alarmed.  Where we're at right now is the point where we want to investigate possible solutions to the issues we're facing," said Clark County Emergency Management Director John Ross.

The study is expected to be finished in the spring.
