Co-Anchor Competition: Dani & Lindsay try gymnastics again

MADISON (WKOW) -- Wake Up Wisconsin co-anchors Dani Maxwell and Lindsay Veremis have a lot in common. They're both journalists, both very short, both have cats and are both former gymnasts.

They thought it would be fun to have a "co-anchor competition" and get back into the gym - which was their playground growing up.  Badger Gymnastics Academy was kind enough to help make it happen.

Dani and Lindsay knew their bodies and bones may be old by gymnast standards, but it was too good of an idea to pass up. They asked Meteorologist Brian Olson to judge, but quickly realized he didn't know anything about gymnastics.

So after a crash course in what to look out for, the ladies started where they were most comfortable: on the floor exercise. Lindsay pulled out the win on that event, but then it was off to beam, where Dani stuck her routine and Lindsay had a fall. Lindsay asked for a do-over and Brian granted it. He did average the two beam scores.

Brian tried to coax the ladies into getting up on the uneven bars, but their response was, "We hate bars. We stink at bars. No bars." Brian got up on the bars instead.

Vault was out too since the apparatus has changed since both Dani and Lindsay did gymnastics. How long ago was that? They're not saying.

Lindsay suggested a handstand contest, which she is an expert in. Dani whined a little, or a lot at that idea, but finally gave in. After three attempts and three wins by Lindsay, Dani bowed out and named Lindsay the winner!

The ladies also taught Brian a few things, but you'll have to tune into Wake Up Wisconsin Tuesday morning to see his hilarious highlights!
