Mt. Horeb man seriously injured in rollover crash

MOUNT HOREB (WKOW) -- Shortly after 1:30 Monday morning, a motorist contacted 911 for a rollover crash in the west ditch line of State Highway 69, just north of Paoli Road in the Town of Montrose.

Reports were the vehicle was unoccupied.  When deputies from the Dane County Sheriff's Department arrived on scene, they conducted a search of the area.  Belleville Fire and EMS were also sent to the area.

A firefighter then discovered the 28-year-old male driver had been ejected and was lying in a ditch across the road from the vehicle.

The driver was unresponsive and thus transported to UW Hospital via Med Flight with life-threatening injuries.

Initial investigation shows the driver was traveling southbound on STH 69 when his vehicle left the roadway just after a curve.  There was an extensive odor of intoxicants, prompting a search warrant for a blood draw.
