Snow on Madison sidewalks must be removed by noon Tuesday

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- If you haven't shoveled the snow off your sidewalk, make sure you do it by noon on Tuesday.

The City of Madison sent out an alert Monday night saying that since the snow that started to fall on Monday stopped prior to midnight, so the snow and ice that accumulated has to be removed from public sidewalks by noon on Tuesday.

Ice that cannot be removed should be treated with sand and/or salt to provide traction.

The city provides free sand. You can find locations to pick up sand by clicking here.
