UPDATE: The Sheeley House owner explains why the business closed

Posted:

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - Update: The owner of The Sheeley House is talking about why the business has closed.  In a letter to the city, dated November 21, 2013, James Bloms wrote the following:

The James Sheeley House is suspending operations due to the owner's health. The business is listed with a real estate broker for sale, and will resume normal business when sold or after the abovementioned health issues are resolved. Pending any change in health or a sale, November 30, 2013 will be the last day of transacting business.

Being the chef/manager as well as the owner, hip surgery has prevented me from performing the work necessary for the business to remain solvent. It is my intention as the property owner to retain the liquor license as current under the same ownership until such property is sold, at which time it will be transferred to the new owner.

Sincerely,

James Bloms
