Update: DNR investigating hunting accident near Boyceville

Boyceville (WQOW) - New information is released about a man shot during a deer drive near Boyceville.

The DNR says 52-year-old Brian Kohnke, from Menomonie, remains in the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

He was shot in the stomach by a hunter in his same group who was firing at a deer. Kohnke was part of a deer drive involving around 20 people. He was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

The incident took place on private property north of State Highway 170 near County Road F. The DNR says the incident is still under investigation.

Boyceville (WQOW) - Some developing news out of Dunn County as someone has been shot in a hunting accident.

The DNR is investigating the incident, which happened around 11:30 this morning near Boyceville. The DNR says a man who was part of a deer drive was shot in the stomach by a member of his own hunting party. He was airlifted to the hospital. His name or condition is not being released right now. We'll bring you more information as we get it.
