First Phoenix Park Christmas Market held downtown

Eau Claire (WQOW) - An empty space downtown was brought to life Saturday for the first ever Phoenix Park Neighborhood Christmas Market.

The former Charleys Market grocery store featured about ten vendors today. They offered and array of gifts including, decorations, food, and jewelry.

With only three weeks to plan the event organizers say it has been a success.

"We started pretty early and 9 a.m. is pretty early after black Friday," said organizer Colleen Weber "I think it's been very good. I've been excited, the people I've talked to are very excited about having it. They love this area of downtown and they want new things and different things to happen. It looks like we have a pretty good turn out."

If you missed the market today, it will be back again next Saturday at the same time and place. Organizers say there will be close to 20 vendors the next time.
