Packers parody video goes viral

Green Bay (WAOW)- A Wisconsin girl is showing her love for the Green Bay Packers. She wrote a parody to a current hit and now the video has gone viral.

Olivia Hotchkiss says the video she created at home was her most productive Monday project ever.

"I got done nannying in the morning and I was driving home and the Lordes song was on the radio and I was just kind of playing around with the lyrics and by the time I got home I had already written the refrain and the bridge," said Hotchkiss.

The D.C. Everest graduate now lives in Green Bay.

She wrote, sang, and recorded a parody to the hit "Royals" by Lorde. Her version is called "Packer Backer." Then she posted the video on YouTube and it went viral. As of Sunday, the original video had more than 330,000 views.

"Everyone was calling and it all just happened so fast and it was just me siting in my bed," said Hotchkiss.

She was contacted by a few production companies to make a professional music video. She says she partnered with Omni Midwest Media Productions to produce another video with her song.

"We just shot at the Eagles versus Packers game and outside tailgating it and it was just an awesome all around day. We partied for about 12 hours straight during the photo shoot," said Hotchkiss.

She says Packers passion is in her blood.

"I have one aunt that's a Bears fan. Other than that, everybody's green and gold," says Hotchkiss.

That made it easy for her to find other fans to be in the video.  She recruited her sister and a lot of friends to star in the video.

"It was so much fun, even the people partying in the background were still some of my close friends so it was just fun getting everyone to come out there and do what we love to do to support the Packers so it was a lot of fun to do," said Hotchkiss.

Hotchkiss says now that she lives in Titletown, her love for the Green and Gold just keeps growing.

Hotchkiss says the video caught the attention of the TV show "The Voice." She says she will be auditioning for the show in January.
