Authorities looking for man who robbed local loan store in Darth Vader mask


Eau Claire (WQOW) - Officers are searching for a man who held up an Eau Claire business Friday morning, while wearing a Darth Vader mask.

It happened at the Wisconsin Auto Title Loans store on London Road. The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office says the clerk reported that the suspect kept one hand in his pocket during the robbery, leading her to believe he had a weapon.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'10'', in his 40's with a raspy voice. He was wearing a red jacket and black stocking cap. The man ran out of the store with nearly $600.

Investigators say the store did not have any surveillance cameras.


Eau Claire (Press Release) - Eau Claire County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at 2904 London Road, Eau Claire, Town of Washington Friday morning. 

The complainant advised that a white male, approximately 5'09-5'10, wearing a dull red jacket and faded dirty blue jeans, in his 40's, entered the Wisconsin Title company and demanded money.  The male had a raspy voice and wrinkles on his forehead but was wearing a black ski-mask and a glove on his right hand as well as a Star Wars-type mask.  The suspect kept his left hand in his pocket while he demanded money and never displayed or threatened that he had a weapon.

The suspect received $590 and fled on foot in the area.  No additional information is available and the incident is still under investigation.


Eau Claire County (WQOW) - Eau Claire County authorities are looking for a man allegedly involved in an armed robbery.

The Eau Claire Police Department took to Twitter Friday morning, to report that an armed robbery occurred around 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at Wisconsin Title Loans on London Road and Skeels Avenue in Eau Claire.

The suspect is reported to be male, 5'10'', wearing a Darth Vader mask, light dirty jeans, stocking hat and red jacket.
