Wisconsin wins its first Big Ten hockey game

MADISON, Wis. Playing in a home Big Ten game for the first time, No. 17 Wisconsin (5-5-1, 1-2-0-0 Big Ten) used seven different goal scorers for a 7-1 victory over Penn State (3-8-1, 0-1-0-0 Big Ten) on Friday at the Kohl Center.
The victory marked the programs first official victory as a member of the Big Ten hockey conference.
Junior forward Joseph LaBate led the Badgers with three assists.
UW begins the longest home stand in school history with a victory in the first of 12 consecutive home games.
Senior forward Tyler Barnes scored a highlight-reel goal with a no-look back hand through his legs for the score.
Junior goaltender Joel Rumpel made 28 saves in goal to improve to 3-1-0 on the season
