Group suing for the ability to carry guns on Madison buses

MADISON (WKOW) -- A gun-rights group in Milwaukee is challenging the Madison Metro policy banning weapons on city buses.

Wisconsin Carry Inc. has announced it plans to file a lawsuit in the next few weeks.

Currently, Metro Transit's policy bans "weapons of any kind", and Wisconsin Carry feels that policy violates the state's concealed-carry law.

City officials say they're confident the weapons ban is legal and is in the best interest of bus passengers.

Tony Galli spoke with representatives of Wisconsin Carry and Madison Metro and will further detail their differences over the weapons ban tonight in 27 News at 5, 6 and 10.

  • Does Madison Metro's ban on weapons violate the state's concealed carry law?
