Three injured in crash along Hwy. 25 in Dunn County

Dunn County Sheriff's Department (Press Release) - On December 13, 2013 at 5:11 PM the Dunn County Communications Center received multiple reports of a two vehicle crash on STH 25 about two miles south of Menomonie.

Dunn County Sheriff's Deputies and Menomonie Fire Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival deputies found a head-on crash between a north bound and a south bound car, blocking the entire roadway. There were three people involved, a lone driver of a north bound vehicle and the driver and one passenger in the south bound car. All three subjects were injured; however the driver of south bound vehicle was not transported by ambulance.

Upon further investigation it was determined that the driver of the south bound car was on the wrong side of the road when he hit the north bound car head-on. The female passenger of the south bound car was air lifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul from Mayo Menomonie due to her injuries. Her current condition is unknown, however it did not appear that her injuries were life threatening. The other injuries appeared to be minor in relation to the extensive damage to both vehicles. Seat belt use can be credited for preventing more serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff's Office.
