Wisconsin wins third straight with victory over Colorado College



MADISON – After a scoreless first period, Wisconsin (7-5-1, 2-2-0-0 Big Ten) scored twice in the second stanza for a 2-1 lead it would never relinquish in a 4-1 victory over Colorado College (2-11-3, 2-5-3-1 NCHC) on Friday at the Kohl Center.

Sophomore forward Nic Kerdiles got credit for the game-winning goal and added an assist for his fourth consecutive two-point game.

Senior forward Michael Mersch became the 72nd Badger in school history with 100 career points with his team-leading ninth goal of the season, in the third period.

Senior defenseman Frankie Simonelli had an empty-net goal and an assist to extend his point-scoring streak to a career-long four games.
