Clearwater Winter Parade rolls through Eau Claire on Sunday

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Holiday spirit bested the bitter cold tonight during Eau Claire's 2nd annual Clearwater Winter Parade.

Dozens of area businesses and organizations along with a few familiar faces from News 18 decorated floats and dressed up to spread some holiday cheer.  Hundreds of people braved the freezing temperatures and lined Water Street to watch the floats and catch some candy.

"It's definitely winter, winter has arrived a little bit early this year.  We want to get people in the Christmas spirit.  This is our second year, we are trying to add and make some new things happen for this event every year," says Superintendent of Recreation Dawn Comte.  "This year we're adding carriage rides at Hobbs Ice Center, we have the fireworks display.  Weather doesn't matter, we're going to keep this going no matter what."

There was also a Family Fun Celebration at the Hobbs Ice Center following the parade, which included different games, live animals, and ornament making.
