Dangerous water rescue in Beaver Dam saves man's life

TOWN OF TRENTON (WKOW) -- Early Saturday morning, the Dodge County SHeriff's Office was called to the report of a man in the water at Beaver Dam Lake.

Thermal imaging was used to locate 32-year-old Raymond Cody, of Beaver Dam. 

Cody had driven his 4-wheel ATV off the ice and into open water around 2:45 a.m.  The ATV was submerged and he was standing on top to keep his head above water.

Cody was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Town of Trenton (WKOW) --- Dodge County Sheriff's Department responded to call of a man in the water at Beaver Dam Lake Saturday.

The call came in around 2:45 a.m. in the Town of Trenton.

Officer Wegner from Fox Lake was the first on the scene and used thermal imaging to locate the man 300 yards north of Hickory Point Road.

Officials say the man had driven his 4 wheel ATV off the ice and into open water.

The ATV was submerged and the man was standing on it to keep his head above water.

A roped flotation device was used to pull the subject out.

The man was take to Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A nearby neighbor helped in the rescue along with Officer Wegner, Deputy Nehls, and Sgt. Weninger.
