Young man's body found below New Richmond railroad bridge

St. Croix Co. (Press Release) - On December 17th, 2013 at 7:51 a.m., New Richmond Police were advised of a possible deceased individual located below the railroad bridge in the 400 block of North Knowles Avenue.  The railroad bridge spans the Willow River, which runs through the City of New Richmond.

Upon arrival of officers, they found the body of a 26-year-old white male below the bridge on the east side of the Willow River.  The male has been identified as Kyle Edward Mara, a resident of Roberts, Wisconsin.

During the course of the investigation, officers contacted the owner of the railroad, Canadian National, and requested that the railroad close down all train traffic running through the city.  The railroad was closed for approximately one hour.

The family of Kyle E. Mara have been notified and the investigation continues.  No foul play is suspected at this time.

Assisting the New Richmond Police Officers were, New Richmond Fire Department, New Richmond Area EMS, St. Croix County Sheriff's Department and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner's Office.
