Former UW-Stout professor fined for growing marijuana

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A former UW-Stout educator is fined for growing marijuana in his yard.

Thomas Harvey pleaded guilty to reduced charges Monday. He was fined nearly $1,000. Last year, Eau Claire police said they found six marijuana plants growing in his backyard on Fleming Avenue. They said they also found several harvested plants. Harvey taught business courses at Stout. He was suspended when he was charged, and no longer works at the university.
