ECPD looking for those involved in hit-and-run near Water Street


Eau Claire (WQOW) - Police in Eau Claire are looking for a hit-and-run driver who hit two pedestrians. It happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning at the intersection of Niagara Street and 4th Avenue, near Water Street.

Police say four people were in a crosswalk when two of them were hit by a car.  They say the driver did not appear to slow down before hitting them, and afterward, accelerated and left the scene. One of the pedestrians was taken to the hospital. Police say he had a badly broken leg.  The other man who was hit did not need medical treatment.  Another man and woman with them were not hit.

Police are looking for a dark color, 4-door compact car.  They say it may have front-end damage. Call police if you have any information.
