December has been a very active month and that trend will continue. 15.3" of snow has fallen already this month in Eau Claire, and we'll add to that before we get to Christmas day. A system will work through the Chippewa Valley during the evening hours of Christmas Eve. This will make for some difficult travel as 2-4" of snow is possible across the Chippewa Valley.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect all across Western Wisconsin until 3 AM tonight. It's the evening hours that the snow will be falling the hardest, so be careful on the roads because travel will be difficult due to the falling and blowing snow.
Another batch of snow will work through Christmas Day. That system is weaker so new snow totals from it will be lower, but another half an inch to inch is possible.
