Wisconsin falls to South Carolina in Capital One Bowl

ORLANDO, FL (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin football team lost to South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl with a final score of 34-24.

Wisconsin led 14-13 at halftime.

But the Badgers did not have an answer for South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw, who passed for three touchdowns, caught one touchdown and ran for another. Shaw was named the game's Most Valuable Player.

Wisconsin was led by its running attack. Melvin Gordon and James White each ran for more than 100 yards, totaling 143 and 107 respectively.

The Badgers lost quarterback Joel Stave during the game with a possible shoulder sprain.

The 19th-ranked Badgers end Gary Andersen's first season as head coach with a record of 9-4.
