Orlando, FL (WQOW) -- For the fourth-straight season, the Wisconsin football team ends the season with a loss. The Badgers fell to South Carolina 34-24 in the Capital One Bowl.

The bowl record is an unfortunate blemish on what has been a great resume for Wisconsin's senior class. The group finishes their collegiate careers as of the program's best, finishing second in school history with 39 wins.

"This season has helped a lot of our players grow as people, as men and take life lessons onto what we're doing with the rest of our lives," says senior safety Dezmen Southward. "It showed our young guys how to work, how to compete. And I fully expect those guys to go back to Madison and truly hone in on those things and I expect to see a great season from them next year."

Adds senior defensive end Ethan Hemer: "I'd say that this is a successful season because no one quit. There wasn't any time in the season when someone said we can't win this game. No, we were in it every game and I think that the younger guys see that and know what it takes to be a competitive, successful team."
