Fatal snowmobile accident in Ladysmith


Rusk County (WQOW) - The Rusk County Sheriff's Department says it is investigating a fatal snowmobile accident.  It happened Saturday afternoon in Ladysmith.

The sheriff's department says it received a call to respond to a man who was not responsive. They say based on evidence at the scene, it appears the man had a medical emergency before the crash happened. The say a name is not being released until the family is notified.


Rusk County (Sheriff's Department Snowmobile Fatal Press Release) – On Saturday January 4, 2014 at approximately 12:41pm the Rusk County Dispatch Center received a call about a snowmobile accident on TRL 116 at Falge Park Drive in the City of Ladysmith, County of Rusk.

Information received from the caller advised there was one snowmobile involved in the accident with one male operator who was not responsive. CPR was performed at the scene and the patient was transported by ambulance to Rusk County Memorial Hospital.

From evidence on the scene, it appeared the operator had a medical emergency before the crash occurred.

The patients name is not being released at this time, pending the notification of family members.
