Madison skaters honor MLK through service


MADISON (WKOW) -- On Monday, people are remembering the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and celebrating his life in all sorts of ways including at the ice rink.

Ice skaters with the Madison Ice Arena will put on an exhibition Monday in honor of the Civil Rights leader.

Club community projects start at 10 a.m. where participants can make scarves and cards for cancer patients.

The exhibition will start at 12:30 p.m. People are encouraged to bring a food donation for Second Harvest Food Bank.

A public skate will start at 2:30 p.m. where participants will have the chance to take the ice with members of the Figure Skating Club of Madison.
