UPDATE: Victim of Sawyer County shooting has died

Sawyer County (WQOW) - A northern Wisconsin woman who was shot in early January, has died of her injuries.

The Sawyer County Sheriff's office says Claudia Bunny passed away Saturday, one week after she was shot in the head.

Her boyfriend Kerry Stevenson is in jail on a one million dollar bond. The Sheriff's office says Stevenson had fired a handgun inside or near his truck, and Bunny, who was inside the truck, was shot.

Stevenson then showed up at a restaurant, screaming, with blood on him. The investigation into the incident is continuing.

Sawyer County (WQOW) - Law enforcement identifies the woman who was shot in the head in Sawyer County.

The sheriff's department says Claudia Bunny was shot early Saturday morning inside a truck.  The sheriff's department says her boyfriend, Kerry Stevenson, showed up at a restaurant screaming, with blood on him.  Investigators then found Bunny in the truck.

Authorities say Stevenson had alcohol in his system when he was arrested for reckless injury and being a felon in possession of a firearm.  Stevenson is from Louisiana and Bunny is from New York.  Authorities say they were in Sawyer County because Stevenson was doing some welding work there.

Sawyer Co. (WQOW) - The sheriff's department says it arrested 52-year-old Kerry Stevenson from Louisiana after he allegedly shot his girlfriend in the head.  Deputies say the shooting happened Saturday morning just before two.

The department got a call from someone at Ray Jay's Restaurant who said Stevenson was at the business screaming and had blood on him. 

The caller was concerned something had happened to Stevenson's girlfriend, who had been at the restaurant earlier in the night with him. Deputies found Stevenson's 48-year-old girlfriend in his truck with a gunshot wound to her head. 

She was taken to the hospital where she's in critical condition.  The case is still under investigation.

Sawyer Co. (WQOW) - A woman is in the hospital and a man is in jail after a weekend shooting in Sawyer County.

The sheriff says it happened early Saturday morning. He says the shooting happened inside a vehicle. The woman is hospitalized in Duluth. Her condition is not known. The sheriff's office is not releasing her name, or the name of the suspect in custody.  The sheriff says more information will be released Tuesday.
