JUNEAU (AP) -- A former prison inmate will go back behind bars after spitting on two correctional officers.

The Beaver Dam Daily Citizen reports Jesus Aponte, Jr., 31, was sentenced Wednesday to 5 1/2 years in prison and two years of extended supervision after pleaded no contest. During the hearing Wednesday, Aponte was removed from the courtroom twice for outbursts.

Aponte was originally serving a two year prison sentenced after a 2009 case in Kenosha County where he failed to register or update his information as a sex offender. He also has previous convictions for prisoner throwing or expelling a bodily substance, child abuse, batter, bail jumping, resisting an officer and disorderly conduct, according to the newspaper. He's currently facing charges in Racine County of first degree child sexual assault - intercourse with a person under 12 - and child enticement.

In this recent case, the criminal complaint state Aponte was taken to a nurses' station at the prison, but threatened to kill the nurse. He was taken back to his cell where he continued to threatened corrections officers and spit on two of them.
