UPDATE: Dad and girl escape Kentucky fire; 9 others dead

GREENVILLE, KY (WKOW) -- Kentucky State Police say the fire that killed nine people Thursday morning started accidentally.

Officials say the fire ignited from a combustible material against an electric baseboard heater in a bedroom.

All victims were found in a master bedroom and could indicate they were trying to escape through a window, however, investigators aren't quite sure yet.

Eight children and their mother died in the fire, while the father and an 11-year-old girl escaped with injuries.

Autopsies were started Thursday afternoon.
