Local residents grillin' for peace

MADISON (WKOW)-- A unique fundraiser will have local residents grabbing their grills and heading out the lake, in the dead of winter.

The event called Grillin' for Peace benefits Savory Sunday, a non-profit organization that feeds the needy every Sunday at 2pm in the basement of the State Capitol building.

The concept is pretty simple, participants are invited to create a giant peace sign using "old school" Weber grills on frozen Lake Wingra. While in the awesome formation, they will grill meats, enjoy friends and have fun in the great outdoors.

It costs $35 to participate.  That includes a spot in the peace sign, a raffle ticket and a t-shirt.  It's coming up this Saturday, February 1 from 10:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.
