Rice Lake man arrested for allegedly pulling a firearm on a woman

Rice Lake (Press Release) - On Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 12:43 a.m., Rice Lake Police Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic incident at a residence on the city's south side. While enroute, dispatch advised the responding officers that the male suspect had armed himself with a firearm and was now standing outside the residence on the patio.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect on the patio and he was detained without further incident. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the male suspect was distraught over personal issues. The suspect had requested keys to his vehicle, so he could drive to another location and the female refused to release the keys to him because he had allegedly been consuming alcohol.

The suspect then retrieved a handgun and pointed it at the female victim, threatening to kill her if she did not release the keys to him. The suspect then retreated into another room, at which time the female called 911.

The 34-year-old male suspect, Chad R. Studier, of Rice Lake, was arrested for multiple offenses including possession of a firearm while intoxicated, first degree recklessly endangering safety, intentionally pointing a firearm at another and disorderly conduct (all domestic abuse related).

Studier was transported to the Barron County Jail where he made an initial appearance on Thursday, January 30 for formal charges filed by the Barron County District Attorney's Office.
