RCU grant to sharpen snapshots for Eau Claire high school

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A classroom grant helps to sharpen the lasting image that high school seniors will have.

On Thursday, RCU and Eau Claire's Own News 18 presented an Eau Claire North classroom with a $300 grant.  Cheryl Boone is a business education teacher and the yearbook adviser.  She applied for a Tools for Schools grant to buy a color printer.  She says the yearbook pages are produced on a computer that does not have true color resolution... so sometimes, what looks good on the screen fails to measure up when it's printed.

"My first day of class, I tell them, 'We're recording the history of North High School,' and for them, it's now and they're always going to remember it, but it doesn't take long before it's not really right here anymore... so being able to look at the book, it's recording that in history just like any other historical event," said Boone.

Tools for Schools is a partnership between RCU and Eau Claire's Own News 18.  We are taking nominations for next month's $300 award.  Click here to apply.
