Man attacked outside Madison bar Friday morning

MADISON (WKOW) -- Around 2:00 Friday morning, a 24-year-old Middleton man was attacked.

It happened outside the Cardinal Bar on E. Wilson Street.  An employee saw the incident take place and immediately called police.  Another witness says the victim was being punched in the head and appeared to lose consciousness.

The man had hit the ground and then four other men jumped in and began kicking and punching the victim.  He was not seriously injured.  All of the suspects were able to flee before officers arrived.

Witnesses say the main suspect is a black male, approximately 6'3" and 250-275 pounds.  He has a medium complexion and was last seen wearing a black vest over a long-sleeved shirt and a black knit cap with a "ball on the top".

Police were not given a lot of information as the victim was intoxicated.
