UPDATE: Home total loss after fire in the Town of Windsor

TOWN OF WINDSOR (WKOW) -- About 30 units respond to a residential fire in the Town of Windsor.

According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, the homeowners were awakened by the sound of smoke detector alarms and smoke in their one-story ranch. The homeowners exited the home without injury and called 911. 

The fire is believed to have originated in the chimney area. The house is considered a complete loss.  The estimated value of the damage is unknown at this time.

DEFOREST (WKOW) -- About 30 units respond to a residential fire near DeForest.

Crews from nearly 10 different agencies have contained the fire, but are still on the scene to make sure there are no flare ups. It happened on the 4100 block of Gray Road, just east of Highway 51, in DeForest.

The house fire was first reported about 1:00 a.m. on Sunday. So far, no injuries have been reported. The cause remains under investigation.
