Illinois man dies after snowmobile hits trees in Wisconsin


HURLEY (WKOW) -- A 46-year old Illinois man is dead after his snowmobile collided with several trees in Northern Wisconsin. It was reported around 3:30am on Saturday, alcohol and speed are believed to have been factors in the crash.

Iron County Sheriff, Tony Furyk, said that the man was traveling with a group of people when his snowmobile veered off and struck the trees in the Town of Mercer.

A 48-year-old women is recovering after her snowmobile went airborne and rolled over several times on Sunday night. This accident occurred in Southern Wisconsin in the Town of Auburn. Fond du Lac County sheriff's department reports that she has serious injuries but is expected to survive.
