Local teen guitar player to record first album

MAUSTON (WKOW) -- Kyle Roberts has a passion for music and specifically for the blues.  The 15-year-old began playing guitar at age 12 and is now about to record his first album.

Roberts is self-taught, but has a professional sound that got him noticed by some big names in the music industry.  In March, he will travel to Nashville to work with producer Young Memphis, who manages Soulja Boy and has worked with artists including Ruby Wilson, rapper Bone Crusher and the late Jazz Singer James Austin.

Roberts say he's getting a lot of support from his school iLEAD Charter School.  He and his teacher Greg Rowe joined Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about the guitarist's exciting year and music.

Typically a reserved person, Roberts says he's getting used to being recognized, doing interviews and can't wait to record.  His upcoming album is titled "It Feels Like Home."
