MADISON (WKOW) -- It's winter in Wisconsin, so you've probably already had a cold. In fact most adults will get at least two colds a year; and kids will get five. There was ways to beat a cold though.

The following are six ways Dr. Luke Fortney, with Meriter, says you can beat a winter cold:
  1. Frequent hand washing
  2. Reducing stress
  3. Avoid vigorous exercise while sick
  4. Smoking Cessation
  5. Limiting alcohol to low-to-moderate use
  6. Sticking with the nutritional recommendations

Fortney joins us on 27 News at 5 on Tuesday.
