Update: Victim Identified in Stoughton Deadly Crash

STOUGHTON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Medical Examiner's office has identified the man killed in yesterday's crash on Highway 51 as 44-year old Raife Melloch of Oregon, WI. The crash occurred at Lake Kegonsa road in the town of Dunn Wednesday morning. The Dane County Sheriff's Office says Melloch lost control of his vehicle around a curve, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck two vehicles.

STOUGHTON (WKOW) -- A 44-year-old man from Oregon died Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 51 at Lake Kegonsa Road.

It happened around 7:40 a.m.  According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, the man's southbound Hyundai lost control while going through a curve.  The vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a Chevy Malibu, before colliding with a second northbound vehicle, a Ford F150.

The 44-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevy Malibu, 30-year-old Loni M. Manion, and the driver of the Ford, 66-year-old Larry Seidl, were treated at the scene for minor injuries. 

Investigators say weather conditions and speed are factors in the crash.  The incident is still under investigation.

Drivers are urged to take an alternate route.  Authorities say northbound traffic should take US 51 to Lake Kegonsa Road, east to Barber Drive, north to Schneider Drive, west back to US 51. Reverse those directions for Southbound traffic.

STOUGHTON (WKOW) -- A crash has closed both lanes of Highway 51 near Lake Kegonsa road in Stoughton.  Dane County firefighters and EMS are on scene.

Officials with the Dane County Sheriff's Department say it's unclear how many vehicles were involved but there are injuries.

Drivers are urged to find alternate routs and allow additional time for their morning commute.
