Madison (WQOW) -- Wisconsin football coach Gary Andersen announces the Badgers 2014 recruiting class.
Wisconsin will bring in 30 players: 25 on scholarship, and five more as walk-ons. For whatever it's worth, Rivals.com rates the Badgers class as the 33rd-best class in the country.
One of Andersen's priorities was to add speed to the roster, and he looks to have done that by signing two big-time running backs along with five wide receivers. Andersen thinks some of those receivers could see immediate playing time.
"If you look at that position and you go through the recruiting process it became very apparent that we were going to get attacked," says Andersen, "Wisconsin doesn't throw the ball, Wisconsin this why would you go there, you're never going to get the ball thrown to you but these men understand the vision and the direction the offense wants to go and where we want to take the offense and we definitely upped ourselves in the competitiveness and their want-to to help the offense change. Football becomes a lot easier when you have some playmakers."
